Another reason to hate American Idol… as if we needed one.
Ok… here we are back with the TV season starting up and like many with a PVR I record most of my TV. So I got home late last night and was looking to watch CSI: New York. I start to watch and there is about 15 minutes of American Idol that I have to scan through and then end of the program I actually want to watch is cut off. WTF????
Why can’t the atrocity that is American Idol be contained in an hour? It’s not like it’s sports!
More importantly why can’t they submit accurate digital tv schedules to the digital cable providers? By Airtime they know how long the show is don’t they?
I found a couple articles about this although inexplicably they were lamenting not seeing the end of the show (I saw it, you didn’t miss much):
I should be clear that I never understood the appeal of American Idol…. it’s a bunch of semi talented people singing bad songs badly. I don’t care how much money they pump into promoting Kelly Clarkson’s career she still is kind of awful and I couldn’t name another winner of the show except maybe for that William Hung guy. Of the music reality shows the only ones I thought yielded any real talent were the Rockstar shows and even then you had to wait until they got rid of the people who sucked. American Idol is all about the people who should only sing in the shower.
